RPC Astrapak retains Level 4 B-BBEE status
RPC Astrapak has retained its rating as a Level 4 B-BBEE certificate, which was independently verified in accordance with the Codes of Good Practice. The Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Verification Certificate is based on information provided to Renaissance SA Ratings, a SANAS accredited BEE Verification agency.
The company achieved a 100% procurement recognition level, 25.01% black ownership and 16.35% black women ownership. The B-BBEE scorecard further revealed the achievement of targets for Ownership at 24.81/25 and Socio-Economic Development 5/5. Skills Development achieved a score of 14.49/20, emphasising the drive to transfer skills and uplift employees within the work place.
RPC Astrapak CEO Robin Moore expressed gratitude to his team, particularly the Procurement and Supply Team, Human Resources and head Office teams for their efforts in remaining committed to B-BBEE. “I am delighted to advise that we have finally received our new B-BBEE certificate confirming us as a Level 4 – this is a major step for all of us. Given the changes in legislation and interpretations by the Commissioner, this is a great outcome. Level 4 or better is a key pillar of our strategy – and we are now ready to roll as the market definitely appears to be taking certification more seriously.”
Procurement and Supply Executive Nawaaz Kalick echoed Robin’s sentiments that the result was a “great achievement for the business”. “We’ve come a long way and all our departments pulled together well to deliver this result of retaining a Level 4 rating on the new codes. We received great support from our legal advisors – without them and some of the work done by RPC Plc, we probably wouldn’t be where we are right now.
